Product Description
Our EN 1090-Certified Galvanized Steel Truss is purpose-engineered for large-span workshops and commercial complexes requiring exceptional corrosion protection, structural integrity, and European market compliance. Manufactured to the mandatory requirements of EN 1090 – the harmonised European standard for structural steel – this truss carries CE Marking, ensuring seamless access to EU construction markets. The hot-dip galvanized finish provides superior corrosion resistance, delivering 30+ years of maintenance-free service even in harsh industrial environments. Every truss is factory prefabricated and 100% trial-assembled before shipment, ensuring precision fit and rapid on-site erection.

EN 1090 – Your Gateway to European Markets

Since 1 July 2014, CE Marking under EN 1090 has been mandatory for all structural steel components placed on the European market. Our certification covers:
• EN 1090-1: Factory Production Control (FPC) system, verified by a Notified Body, ensuring consistent product quality through systematic in-process inspection and testing.
• EN 1090-2: Technical requirements for execution, covering fabrication tolerances, welding procedures, material traceability, and documentation.
• ISO 3834 Welding Quality: Our welding operations are certified to ISO 3834, the international standard for quality requirements in fusion welding.
• Declaration of Performance (DoP): Every truss is supplied with a DoP confirming its essential characteristics – dimensional tolerances, weldability, and durability – providing complete transparency for your project file.
By choosing our EN 1090-certified trusses, you gain smooth customs clearance, compliant site inspections, and hassle-free project handover – no additional certification hurdles at your border.

Execution Class – Tailored to Your Project

EN 1090 defines four Execution Classes (EXC) that determine the level of quality control, inspection, and documentation required. For large-span workshops and commercial complexes, EXC2 is typically required, offering the optimal balance of quality control and cost-effectiveness. We manufacture to EXC2 as standard, which covers supporting steel structures up to strength class S700 and is suitable for buildings with 2–15 storeys. For more demanding applications – such as stadiums, large public buildings, or structures with high safety requirements – we can supply EXC3 upon request, which imposes stricter NDT coverage, tighter welding controls, and enhanced inspection documentation.

Galvanized Protection – Built for Longevity

Hot-dip galvanizing per EN ISO 1461:2022 provides the most durable corrosion protection available for steel trusses:
• Coating thickness: Mean ≥85μm / Local minimum ≥70μm
• Zinc bath: ≥98% pure zinc at approximately 450°C
• Surface preparation: Degreasing, pickling, and fluxing prior to immersion
• Corrosion performance: 30+ years in C2–C4 environments per ISO 12944

Why Hot-Dip Galvanizing:
• Superior corrosion resistance – outperforms painted systems by 2–8 times
• Sacrificial protection – zinc corrodes preferentially, protecting exposed steel even if scratched
• Full coverage – protects internal surfaces and hard-to-reach areas
• Maintenance-free – 30+ years service life in typical atmospheric conditions
• Sustainable – 100% recyclable zinc coating
For workshops and commercial complexes exposed to industrial atmospheres, coastal environments, or where low maintenance is a priority, hot-dip galvanizing is the definitive choice.

Designed for Large-Span Applications

Large-span workshops and commercial complexes share critical requirements that our truss addresses:
• Column-Free Interiors
The triangular lattice configuration enables spans of 30–60+ metres without intermediate columns, creating open, flexible floor space ideal for production lines, retail areas, exhibition spaces, and equipment movement.
• Architectural Versatility

We offer multiple truss configurations – Warren, Pratt, Howe, or custom lattice – allowing you to achieve the desired roof profile and architectural aesthetic.
• Heavy Load Capacity
Engineered for roof insulation, commercial HVAC systems, suspended ceilings, lighting, fire protection, and maintenance loads – all with appropriate safety factors.
• Low Maintenance
The galvanized finish eliminates the need for periodic repainting, significantly reducing lifecycle maintenance costs – a critical advantage for commercial property owners and facility managers.

Custom-Engineered to Your Requirements

Every project is unique. We custom-engineer each truss to match your specifications:
What We Customise:
• Span length, roof slope, column spacing
• Dead, live, snow, wind, and seismic loads (Eurocode 8 available)
• Truss type – Warren, Pratt, Howe, or custom lattice
• Member sections – H-beams, channels, angles, or tubes
• Connection details – bolted field connections preferred
• Execution Class – EXC2 standard, EXC3 available

Engineering Deliverables:
• 3D models (Tekla Structures / STAAD Pro)
• Detailed shop drawings with dimensioned members
• Erection plans with step-by-step assembly sequence
• Connection details for field bolting
• Material take-offs and lifting plans

Quality Assurance – Beyond Compliance

We maintain a comprehensive quality system aligned with EN 1090 requirements:
• Factory Production Control (FPC) – system audited by a Notified Body under EN 1090-1
• Material Traceability – full Mill Test Certificates with heat numbers for every component
• Certified Welders – EN ISO 9606-1 qualified with approved WPS/PQR
• NDT Inspection – UT/MT as required by Execution Class
• Coating Verification – magnetic gauge thickness testing per EN ISO 1461
• Dimensional Inspection – verified against shop drawings before shipment
• Third-Party Inspection – we welcome SGS, BV, TÜV, or your chosen inspector at any stage
Complete documentation provided with every shipment: DoP, MTCs, WPS/PQR, NDT reports, dimensional records, and CE marking documentation.
